How to

Print models

3 tasks

The Print models screen, with the controls these steps name numbered on it

Add a print model

Describe a model once: how many pieces fit on the bed, how long it prints and how much filament it takes. Every order is priced from it.

  1. In the menu, open Print models.
  2. Press Add.
  3. In the Model card, type the Model name and choose the Printer type it is usually printed on.
  4. In the Plates card, enter Objects per print run, how many come off one print, and the Print time.
  5. Under Filament, pick the filament, type how many grams one print takes and press the plus.
  6. Check Time and filament per machine: the card for your printer opens by itself. Print it on other machines too? Add them there with their own time.
  7. Uses magnets or packaging? Add them in the Consumables card.
  8. Press Create.

Worth knowing: A model with no time for a printer takes no orders on that printer. You can add the figures later on the model’s page with Edit.

Add a model printed in parts

Something printed as several parts, each in its own filament: describe them once, and an order counts the runs of every part.

  1. In the menu, open Print models.
  2. Press Add.
  3. In the Model card, type the Model name and choose the Printer type it is usually printed on.
  4. In the Plates card, press Add part for every part after the first.
  5. Choose a part in the row above the form, type its Part name and Per item: how many of it one item takes.
  6. Fill in each part's plates: pieces, time and Filament.
  7. Press Create.

Worth knowing: A sliced .gcode.3mf with a plate per part fills every part at once: drop it on the form and read its plates as Parts.

Add a colourway

The same model in another colour is its own pile on the shelf and its own choice in an order. Set the colour up once, on the model's page; the order form offers the same window under its colourway select.

  1. In the menu, open Print models.
  2. Open the model by its name; its page opens on the Overview tab.
  3. In the Colourways on the shelf card press New colourway, the plus in its header.
  4. For each filament slot pick the plastic this colourway prints with. The Variant name writes itself from the colours; change it if you like.
  5. Press Create variant. The colourway appears in the card at once, with nothing on the shelf yet.

Worth knowing: An order can create the colourway on the spot too: the variant list in the order form ends with the same window.
